Lejog day 14. Newtown to Wrexham

About 50 miles.

Was market day in Newtown, which was fun to see.

20 miles or so along canals. Pretty, with locks and lots of green and blue skies and trees. Got another puncture, this time massive thorn went through inner tube twice in back wheel. I’m getting better at fixing them.

Legs were feeling much stronger and fresher today. Hills felt easy, even though I could see and feel that I would have struggled a week ago with similar.

Lots of country lanes – pretty. Then main road down into Wrexham – lots of fun fast descents.

Possibly another rest day tomorrow.

Market day in Newtown.

Vince’s homemade flapjack. Helped us up a few hills :)

Castle along the route. Can’t remember name of town it was in.

Whittington Castle, near Oswestry…apparently owned and run by the local community.
