Lejog day 20. Lockerbie to Coalburn via Moffat Toffee Shop

45 miles, but they felt tougher than they should have due to bumpy surface and head winds as well as some climbs.

Stopped off in Moffat for sweeties, go faster juice and chips. The climb up was less terrible than it looked from the map. Wasn’t fun having to pedal down the hills as well as up. Every day it’s some grinding out miles and some best times ever racing along with all I need to sustain myself self-contained and free and independent and mobile. Today was mostly the former. But also every day I feel this great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment at the end.

Moorland once we got to the top was stunning.

Vince faded at one point as had been mostly fuelling himself with sweets. So we had sandwiches.

Very glad to arrive tonight.
